Step 2: Collect Your Sample
Your kit includes everything you need for easy at-home collection. Follow the simple step-by-step instructions to collect a small stool sample. The process takes just a few minutes and can be done in complete privacy. Your kit is generally good for about 6 months from the date you ordered it, as long as the collection materials stay sealed and are stored properly.
Step 3: Ship It Back
Place your sealed sample in the return shipping envelope included in your kit. Simply drop it in any mailbox or post office. Your kit includes a prepaid return shipping label, so there is no extra return-postage cost — just seal the mailer and drop it in any mailbox or Canada Post location.
Step 4: Lab Analysis
Diagnostic Solutions Laboratory uses quantitative PCR (qPCR) to measure selected microbial DNA targets and other methods for intestinal-health markers. Detection limits vary by target. A result does not by itself establish an active infection or the cause of symptoms.
Step 5: Get Your Results
Receive your comprehensive GI-MAP™ results within 7-9 business days after the lab receives your sample. Your detailed report includes quantitative measurements of 85+ biomarkers including pathogens, bacteria, fungi, parasites, viruses, and intestinal health markers.
